Simplicity is our key to success as it is easier to reproduce and stay consistent throughout a career. From Beginners to Professionals, all basketball players can use the methods we teach to become a true threat on the court!

Why We Started
The game of basketball gave Coach Carlos the opportunity to pursue an education in the United States, which resulted in changing his life. In 2007, he moved to America to chase his basketball dreams, eventually graduating from Beckman High School in Irvine (2011) and playing 3 seasons at Saddleback College where he won State Championships in 2015 and 2017. Throughout his journey, Coach Carlos encountered many coaches that significantly impacted his life both professionally and personally. After completing his college degree in 2017, Coach Carlos launched UYP (Up Your Performance) to give back to the next generation. With over 1,000+ private trainings, 500+ camps, and international coaching experience in Japan, Korea, Mexico, and Chile, he is committed to mentoring young athletes in Orange County to achieve their full potential.

Coach Frank
Northwood High School Coach
My name is Frank Ruiz, and I'm in my third year of coaching basketball. The game has always been a big part of my life — I played four years at Fountain Valley High School, where I made two CIF appearances and was honored to be named MVP twice. Those experiences shaped the way I see the game and how I connect with players today.
Now, as the Head Coach of the Frosh team and an Assistant Varsity Coach at Northwood High School, I'm focused on helping young athletes grow, not just as players but as competitors and teammates. I bring energy, passion, and a love for the game every day, and I take pride in building relationships with my players while pushing them to be their best.

Coach Ari
San Juan Capistrano HS Alum | Redshirt at Vanguard University
I reached the CIF Division 1 Finals during my high school career, competing against some of the top programs in the state and proving myself as a high-level player. I currently play college basketball as a 2 guard, where I bring strong perimeter scoring, defensive toughness, and a deep understanding of the game. Alongside basketball, I'm studying Biology, and I carry the same discipline in the classroom that I do on the court.
My experience at both elite high school and college levels allows me to connect with players, teach advanced skills, and help them grow into confident student-athletes.
